Pandita Ramabai, the founder of Mukti Mission, was born a Hindu. By the divine grace of God, she found a copy of the book of Luke in the early 1880s that transformed her life. She had seen how the women of lower castes were treated in India, and she read how Jesus loved and offered salvation to women. Ramabai knew her calling as soon as she accepted Christ, and she devoted her life to serving the women in her community. Her mission to restore, renew, and rebuild lives through education, support, and empowerment spoke to my heart. Pandita Ramabai had a willing heart and saw every window of opportunity to bring hope to destitute women. Today, Mukti Mission continues to bring hope through Jesus to young children and destitute women so they can have a joy-filled, positive future.

About the Book:

The Window of Life is a Biblical historical fiction novel that tells the story of Eutychus Ben-Aaron, a young boy who witnesses the intriguing and dangerous life of the disciples of Jesus and goes on several journeys that lead him to encounter God in a life-changing way. I began working on this project when I was 12, after attending a small Bible study on the Book of Acts. I was enthralled by the miracles that God did through His people, and I was especially amused by the story of Eutychus, a young man who fell out of the window during one of Paul’s sermons because he was so tired. My imagination ran wild, and I wondered what someone my age would have thought if they had seen Jesus’ disciples preaching with such boldness firsthand. That was when God gave me the idea of writing a story from the perspective of Eutychus, a boy my age who goes on a journey through Acts. After my initial motivation-filled start, my enthusiasm faded, and I took a break from the manuscript. However, in 2021, I participated in a national competition that did a study on the book of Acts. Because of the competition, I completed an in-depth study of the Book of Acts and learned how much historical, geographical, and cultural context was needed to truly understand it. God rekindled my passion for this book and taught me many things through this study, making me eager to include accurate historical information in my story. It was a long, arduous process because I hadn’t realized how much research I needed to do, but God would always encourage me through His word and direct me to the correct websites and resources I needed at that moment. He led me step-by-step, page by page, and word by word.

My prayer and mission:

Over the years, as I continued researching and writing, the Lord revealed to me His heart and His redemptive plan to save all nations through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Lord showed me how He used ordinary people to do His extraordinary work, and I wanted to share the truths God was teaching me with others. The more I wrote, the more I felt God's call to write for His glory and to help young children understand the real Biblical accounts in an entertaining way, without compromising the spiritual truths. Just like Eutychus, I went on a journey of my own, and by the grace of God, I was finally able to finish writing this book. My mission for this book is that readers will have a deeper understanding of the book of Acts and, as a result, a better understanding of the God of the Bible. It is my sincere desire that all those who read this book will be blessed. The Window of Life is written especially for children ages 9 and up, but it is also a good read for older readers because of the immense historical detail and Biblical truths included. It can also be read aloud to younger children. Though the length may seem daunting at first, the chapters are short and make for an easy read.

My sister, Gracelyn, is the illustrator and has added beautiful pictures to help the readers visualize the scenes in the book. The story of Acts has changed my life, and I hope this book will encourage you in your pursuit of a deeper relationship with our extraordinary God, who accomplishes His plan through ordinary people and uses those with a willing heart.
